Q & A

Frequently asked questions

What is an Anschlussfinanzierung?

A follow-up financing starts when your fixed-rate period ends: the balance still owed is refinanced on new terms, with your current bank or a different one.

How does this calculator work?

The remaining term is held fixed, and the calculator works out the monthly payment needed to repay the remaining balance in full within that time at the new rate.

When should I arrange follow-up financing?

Many banks offer forward loans up to 60 months before your fixed rate ends. Compare offers at the latest a year ahead so you do not fall back onto your bank's default variable rate.
